San Diego Halts Inbound Flights For 5 Hours Over Shooter

A five-hour standoff ended when San Diego Police captured a rooftop gunman who fired at them multiple times. The suspect holed up in his apartment after he exchanged fire with police who arrived on scene at about 9:30 a.m. local time Wednesday.

The gunshots were fired in the Bankers Hill neighborhood near the downtown area. Law enforcement shut down streets in the area, and two nearby schools were placed on lockdown. The children are all safe.
