The Magic City, Birmingham and the state of Alabama is full of history that serves as a catalyst for the civil rights movement. As many prominent black historical  figures derive from this state, it’s important to highlight their efforts and vision that was used to push the narrative of change amongst African Americans.

As we celebrate Black History Month, Today’s Text Bae Of The Day #TBOTD is going to highlight none other than Lynneice O Washington. Lynneice Washington is a product of Birmingham Public School obtaining her Bachelors from Auburn University in 1990 to graduating as Cum Laude in 1995 from Miles Law School.

Lynneice was a solo practitioner in general practice law focusing mainly on domestic relations, family law, criminal defense, personal injury and probate law. After being admitted to the Alabama state bar in September 1996, she opened her office and launched her full-time legal career in January 1997.  Lynneice O Washington would make  history in the year of 2016, becoming the First Black Woman to be elected a Defense Attorney in the state of Alabama and Jefferson County.
