Phi Beta Sigma: I Am My Brother’s Keeper Pi Up Scholarship
The Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma, Pi Upsilon Chapter rewards three scholarships to deserving young men in Birmingham City, Jefferson County, and Walker County areas.
This year, six prestigious young men will be awarded scholarships, amounting in $6000. 1st place will receive $1000, 2nd Place will receive $600 and 3rd place will receive $400.
The Scholarship winners have colleges choices of Alabama State, Howard University, UAB, Tennessee State, and Auburn University.
Deadline for this Scholarship is April 22nd.

The Annuals Lion Scholarship
This Scholarship award is based on the students demonstration of Academic achievement, Financial need and expressed interest in photography, videography, journalism or media.
Scholarship Criteria
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior
- Applicant must reside in Birmingham City Metro Area or Bessemer City District
- Applicant must demonstrate interest in photography, videography, journalism or media.
- GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale
- A record of community Service
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicant must provide evidence of financial need through their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or other financial aid documentation.
- Applicant must complete and submit the scholarship application provided by Lions Den Studios.
- Preference may be given to applicants who have participated in relevant extracurricular activities or
programs. - The scholarship award will be determined by a committee appointed by Lions Den Studios
- The scholarship award will be disbursed directly to the recipient’s institution of higher education to cover
tuition and fees.
The scholarship award may be renewable for up to four years, subiect to the recipient’s continued academic success and financial need.

Beat The Odds Scholarship
If you are a graduating high school student planning to attend a Historical Black College University, Te Tellis Educational Services LLC is offering, the Dr. Jonas Tellis “Beat the Odds” scholarship.
As they are accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. The recipient guidelines include:
- Must be a graduating senior planning to attend an HBCU
- Must be accepted at an accredited College or University
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Submit a 500-word essay on how this scholarship will help you. Submit the essay to Telliseducationalservices@gmail.com
The Scholarship award is $2000 the deadline is June 1st
