A Congratulations is in order as My TBOTD, Text Bae Of The Day, Amber Broadhead, A teacher at Edgewood Elementary School located in the Homewood City Schools has officially been named the 2023 History Teacher of the Year presented by Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, celebrates the crucial importance of history education, by honoring exceptional history teachers from elementary school through high school. Mrs. Braodhead is known for her advocacy for Alabama History with her impactful energy that is received through her students as she engages in hands-on experiences studying the past. She believes in immersing her students in local while increasing civic engagement students in local history while increasing civic engagement.
The principal of Edgewood Elementary stated and I quote “Amber Broadhead is a dedicated teacher who is passionate about social studies instructions. She is a creative thinker who brings amazing experiences to our school. She connects with students inside and outside of the classroom by giving them avenues to pursue their interests. We are so lucky to have her as a teacher at Edgewood Elementary”
