Today’s TBOTD, Text Bae Of The Day, Alabama Symphony Orchestra ASO has found ways to serve the community through musical talents with their initiative Music Meets Medicine. Starting in the summer of 2020, while hospitals were over-saturated with COVID patients the ASO wanted to help bring people comfort and healing.
ASO members collaborated with hospital staff to provide patients and their families with perfectly Orchestrated music as a therapeutic escape. Since the decrease in COVID patients, the music therapist at UAB connected ASO’s Music Meets Medicine and UAB Arts and Medicine program for further partnership, ASO now streams full orchestra performances to patients on various campuses including the UAB Woman, and Children Center and UAB Psychiatric Center.[
