Not only is the month of March honoring women for Woman’s History Month, but today is the celebration of women for International Woman’s Day.
Today’s #TBOTD Text Babe of the Day is recognizing olympian Vonetta Flowers. She is an American Bobsledder beginning her athletic career as a star sprinter and long jumper at the UAB (University Of Alabama in Birmingham).
Vonetta Flowers desired to join the US Summer Olympics Team. After several attempts, she would gain unexpected success in bobsledding, which landed her a place on the Winter Olympics team. It would be in the year of 2002 Winter Olympics, where she became the first black woman to win a gold medal.
